I graduated from Brock University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Biology in 1996, and continued on to study Massage Therapy at the Canadian Therapeutic College in Burlington where I graduated from there in 2000. Going on to my 12th year as a Registered Massage Therapist, I love my job and have always loved being in the health care field.

Since becoming an RMT I started to learn the importance of fitness and have always incorporated fitness into my life through pilates, yoga and running. About 4 years ago I fell in love with spinning…so much so that I became a certified spin instructor last year. I did my training through Reebok up in Vaughn. It was a big venture for me to open Studio Twenty and my hometown of Fonthill was exactly where I wanted this studio to be ! I enjoy having my massage practice located in this amazing studio where I teach cycling classes as well ! I invite you to try one of my classes where I like to mix up my music constantly…I invite your song requests too !!

Spin Instructor

I started spinning 8 years ago to get back into shape after the birth of my first daughter. It became my favourite aerobic activity and spurred me to sign up for the 2nd annual Ride To Conquer Cancer, a more than 200km bicycle ride from Toronto to Niagara as well as the local Big Move Cancer Ride last September. I kept spinning right through my second pregnancy and just over a year ago I took the leap to become certified as an instructor, starting out at the YMCA in Niagara Falls where I continue to volunteer on a weekly basis. Becoming active was the best decision I ever made and has had a positive chain reaction in my life.

Last year I decided to take up running I challenged myself by participating in four 5km runs including the Run for the Grapes and the Niagara Falls Marathon, finishing off the season by placing 2nd in my category in a 3km run (a very proud moment for me).  I have been with Studio Twenty for 4 years already !!!  Hope to see you on the bike soon !

OM SHANTI means “Beyond Peace” … That is what I get out of Yoga & intend to share.
My objective for every OM SHANTI YOGA class is for everyone to leave feeling more empowered,
beautiful and loving them self more than when they came in.
Yoga is so much more than just a good stretch.  Yes, yoga is a good stretch that relieves your body
of stress; Yoga is also a way of BEING.  I like to show how to bring Yoga into your everyday life and
BE with PEACE.  Through specific themes (for each practice) accompanied with a slow flow of Asanas (postures)
Mudras (hand gestures to aid in concentration) and Mantras (words & sounds to aid in concentration)

We dance non-stop with or without the Zumba Toning Sticks or you can use some 1-3 lbs dumb bell weights to tone your upper body.   I’ve been teaching fitness classes  for 14 years now and simply LOVE the Latin inspired Zumba dance steps instead of the traditional aerobic moves. My choreography is very easy to follow and you learn new moves each and every night from Raggaeton to Cumbia to Merengue to Salsa. Bring indoor running shoes that are non-gripping, H2O, and get ready to PARTY!   All ages are welcome! My youngest regular participant is 9 yrs and the oldest is 70+ so YES, you can do it!   YOU choose if you want low intensity or high intensity or low impact or high impact.   Email me if you have any questions or concerns. When I was a kid I believed that if I could take away other people’s pain I would make the world a more beautiful place. My 7 year old self was on a mission to banish sadness and create peace where ever I went.  Things haven’t changed much, but I see more clearly now. I have come to realize that sometimes life is uncomfortable and in this beautiful, wild world it is easy to become overwhelmed, tired and confused. I now know that all this is a natural part of living and it happens to all of us.

I believe that with the right tools and resources life can be adventurous and filled with grace, even during our most painful and awkward moments.  There are times when everything unravels and loses shape – those times when we become disconnected with our sense of well-being. My passion as an educator and therapist is to connect others with their personal source of strength and inspire others to create peace within their own lives.

Over the past 10 years I have had the opportunity to work with many beautiful and diverse people, with many beautiful and diverse challenges. Addictions, back pain, infertility, pregnancy, depression, death, Cancer, divorce, heartbreak, insomnia, exhaustion, confusion … It doesn’t matter what challenges life brings to us – we don’t have to navigate them alone.

I am a speaker, writer, coach, therapist, educator and perpetual student of interesting things.

I am also a mama to two wild and funny little boys. This means that I am a peace-maker, story-teller, wound-healer, emotional-stabilizer, clown, nurse, food scientist and love ninja. I teach meditation and Qi Gong to people from 2 – 100 years of age and believe that peace of mind is accessible to anyone at any stage of life. I love people and I have the ability to step outside of judgement and allow things to be as they are. But I am also an agent of change and I see a world full of people who have a deep desire to find a new way of being.

A Windsor native, I moved to St. Catharines almost 5 years ago.  Finding PYC was a game changer for me!  I went from being a PTA mom to a yoga teacher.  A back row student to a front of the room voice. PYC St. Catharines, yoga and being a teacher helps me get rid of the fear of living an authentic life. It is the place I can show up honestly, however I may be feeling, and I can sweat it all out on my mat. The people in my life comment on the dramatic shifts they see in how I show up in my life now!

Tidbits about me – I’m a mother of 4, 3 boys and a princess.  I was a competitive boxer and coach. I love spontaneous travel. I had to ask my other half out twice to get him to go on a date with me. My favourite season is Fall. I plug my nose with my upper lip when I go swimming. I still attend PTA meetings.

My goal as a PYC teacher is to empower people to be messy in their lives by challenging themselves both on and off their mat.
